It started with two brothers, our co-founders Akil Motiwala and Hamza Burhani and a few too many passport stamps.

As frequent international travellers, we spend our lives hopping between time zones. But whether we were in Tokyo, Paris, Shanghai or New York, we kept hitting the same wall: The Fashion Gap.
On one side, you had "premium" accessories with price tags that required a down payment. On the other, "affordable" options that barely survived a single weekend. There was no middle ground— The high-end was too high, and the low-end was too low. Everything changed during a short trip to Korea. We were blown away by the effortless, high-polished aesthetic of Seoul—where style looked like a million bucks but didn't cost it. That was the spark. We didn't just want to buy the look; we wanted to share it. Taking inspiration from Korea, we named our brand CHINCHOO, a play on the Korean word Chinchu—which literally means "adding a friend."
